You + Me = Avocado! Today at OiB I’m going to discuss about avocado oil. The real, natural and precious one. Yes, exactly, the one that has been kept a secret for ages!

Say Yes to Avocado Oil – Skincare tips - Organicisbeautiful.com
Say Yes to Avocado Oil – Skincare tips – Organicisbeautiful.com

What is it?

I though why not start my post by a simple question 😉  Avocado oil is extracted from the seed of avocado fruit, this oil has great benefits for the skin and I really recommend it and I constantly use it. Unlike the Olive oil or the lavender oil the benefits of avocado oil are less known.

I prefer to use avocado oil few times a week it has many medicinal uses. Why? It can be also used for hair treatment and skin treatment. Thats DOUBLE advantage! Recall the infographic I did (feeling so proud of myself right now haha ;p), avocado is part of top 6 anti-blemish food.

Avocado oil is also rich in oleic and hence is used for the treatment of wound and skin bruises. Keeping the benefits of avocado oil in mind its definitely time to say yes to this oil .

Why Organic Avocado Oil is simply awesome?

So let’s go through some nutritional facts of Avacado oil:

  • Avocado oil rich in vitamins such as vitamin A, D and E and it’s really helpful in healing damaged skin its particularly good for aged and dry skins.
  • Avocado oil has decent quantities of unsaturated fat and proteins these two are very strong skin agents it also contains Omega 3 fat which usually found in fish oil, avocado oil can be used as a Natural body lotion.
  • Avocado oil has an agent called Sterolin which according to researchers help in softening of skin and reducing the blackheads.
  • Avocado oil is also rich in potassium which is really great for hair, it makes the hair smooth and strong. In the same line of shikakai powders mentioned here, and detailed (with Dry hair DIY recipe) here.

I’ve got many friends who have incorporated avocado oil in the daily life but be sure that you are not allergic to the oil, so before you use avocado oil on your face try it somewhere else on your skin and see if there are any allergic reactions or not. If it doesn’t work then this is not for you. But for most people, it doesn’t show any real side effects. Be cautious 😉

How to use Avocado Oil?

So these are the few nutritional benefits of avocado oil, so let’s find out how we can accommodate avocado in our daily regime.

As a skin care product:

A mix of avocado oil with olive oil can be used as a body lotion.

Why ? Organic Avocado oil help in fighting dry skin, it acts as a natural moisturizer. Now you don’t have to buy those expensive moisturisers which don’t have any long lasting effects. Try to use it at least 2 times a week to see maximum results.

To bring fragrance in the oil add few drops of essential oils like Lavender oil, rose water or Jasmine oil.

A Hair oil ?

Organic Avocado oil can be used for hair treatment soil is rich in potassium which strengthens the root of the hair and keeps the scalp fresh. Why use this oil for hair massage, mix 2 tblsp. of Organic avocado oil and castor oil – Note: Castor Oil is also very good for dry feet! –  and warm it in a bowl?

Now apply this blend on wet hair, after you have massaged the oil, wash it off with shampoo. It helps to get rid of dandruff and keep the scalp fresh.

A Natural Face Mask.

Similar to carrot, orange or honey, avocado is a skin food. By skin food, I mean you can also use Organic avocado oil for skin treatment, the face mask can be made out of avocado oil and can be used for acne treatment. Mash up avocado fruit in a bowl apply it on your face for 15 minutes the essential proteins in the avocado fruit and the oleic acid from the seed will kill off the bacteria on the acne and hence give you a flawless smooth face.

DIY carrot and Orange Peel Mask

NOTE: Make sure to keep it away from Eyes as it can be quite irritating.

Massage thoroughly the avocado paste and after you’re finished wash it off with lukewarm water. You are gonna love it 😉

Get rid of wrinkles

Avocado oil is a great age spot remover, the sterloin goes deep into your skin and removes the dead cells. tablespoon of avocado oil and castor oil in a bowl and apply to on your face. Keep it on your face for 10 minutes then wash it off with hot water, try to use it two or three times a week and it shows great results.

Considering the skin care tips, I believe you will definitely start incorporating Avocado oil in daily life. Avocado oil has long list of benefits on skin and it should be of course it should be a yes. If you have any more tips to give about avocado oil or have any queries, please leave them as comment and let me know.

Oats | OrganicIsBeautiful

Oat Meal for breakfast…and your skin!

Oatmeal makes an absolutely fantastic breakfast if you are looking to kick start a healthy lifestyle. It is packed to the brim with all sorts of nutrients. It doesn’t taste half bad, either. However, did you know that oat meal has other benefits beyond that? In fact, it is highly beneficial for your skin.

Oat meal for breakfast + Tips for skincare | www.OrganicIsBeautiful.com
Oat meal for breakfast + Tips for skincare | www.OrganicIsBeautiful.com

On this page, we are going to take a quick look at some of the skin benefits that oatmeal has been proven to have! This is not a definitive list either. Rest assured, if you put that oatmeal on your skin, you are going to feel the benefits!

Acts as a natural cleanser

Oatmeal is rich in a compound known as saponin. This compound is known to have a cleansing impact on the skin. It is able to easily rid your skin of all of that dirt and grime which has gathered on it throughout the day. Since oatmeal is not chemical based, it is going to be a whole lot better for your skin too. There are plenty of people out there who have had their skin ravaged by chemical-based products. If you use oatmeal, then that is not going to be an issue at all!

You should also remember that oats are naturally gritty. This means that they are great at loosening up the dirt and grime which other cleaners may have difficulty in eradicating.

Soothes certain skin conditions

Many people who suffer from certain skin conditions, including the following, find that they benefit from using oatmeal on their skin:

  • Eczema
  • Acne
  • Rosacea
  • Psoriasis

Using oatmeal on the skin acts as a natural soothing agent. Using it properly will quickly relieve any itch and soothe irritation. Using it on a daily basis even has the ability to keep certain skin conditions at bay.

3

Moisturizer

Oats are high in a number of lipids and proteins (we won’t go into depth on the ones inside of the oats!). These are known to have a moisturizing impact on the skin. If you use moisturizer on a daily basis, then turn towards oats. It is a natural solution and is going to be far better for your skin. After all, eventually your body is going to become used to the chemicals that you are putting on it, this means that the ‘standard moisturizers’ are going to have less of an impact.

Anti-ageing benefits

Oats also have an anti-ageing impact on the skin. This is because they are rich in antioxidants. They can help to reverse some of the damage caused by UV rays and chemicals on your skin. This will result in far younger looking skin. It will even eliminate the vast majority of your wrinkles, or at least reduce the appearance of them.

How to make it ?

It is actually pretty simple to start using oatmeal on your skin! You just need to mix it up in exactly the same way as you would normally make your oatmeal (you can make it with cold water, if you want!). Then it is just a case of slightly rubbing it against your skin. This will do most of the work. There are a few people out there who will also leave it on their skin for long periods of time. This is great if you want a nice, deep cleanse.

Why not try out oatmeal for your skin, today?

Eat + Drink + Papaya

Eat + Drink + Party Papaya ! Yes. I did it, I replace Party by Papaya and you will soon understand why. Lets cover first the basic.

The basics

Paw Paw (papaya) is a fruit that grows in tropical areas throughout the world and is easily available here in Malaysia. Most Malaysians enjoy paw paw simply because it is delicious.

Personally, its my favourite snack break! I though I will share with you why you should also add it to your dietary routine, as well as skin care! (Yes).

Papaya derived products are used for a variety of medicinal and therapeutic purposes both by natural health practitioners (Chinese medicine for instance) and in conventional medicine.

Full of Vitamines !

These are just some of the major vitamins and minerals found in large quantities in paw paw:
Dietary fiber
 Folate
Vitamin A, C and E.
Calcium, iron and niacine.

You get it! In short, the benefits of paw paw are simply enormous.

How to Make Papaya Leaf Juice?

Since the papaya leaf juice is quite bitter in taste, it can be combined with other fruit juices.
You can prepare papaya leaf juice at home by following the given steps:

  1. Take several medium sized papay leaves which are washed and partly dried.
  2. Cut them and place them in a sauce pan with around 2 litres of water.
  3. Boil the water and leaves, and skimmer without a lid until the water is reduced to half.
  4. Now strain the liquid and store it in glass containers. It can be refrigerated
and stored for 3 to 4 days. But fresh juice is always preferable.

The juice should be discarded if it becomes cloudy. Alternatively, the juice can be squeezed by
crushing the papaya leaves after removing the stems and other fibrous parts.

NOTE Although this juice is extremely beneficial, it should particularly be avoided by pregnant

women.

Now that we know the basics, lets talk about how beneficial it gets for your skin. 😉

Skin Benefits of Papaya Juice

Papaya fruit is great for your skin and is incorporated in several face packs and skin care products to give you a healthy and glowing skin. Apart from the fruit, papaya leaf juice is
beneficial for the skin in the following ways.

  • Papaya leaf juice has a higher content of vitamins A and C in comparison to the fruit,
    which promote skin health.
  • Papaya leaf juice acts as a skin cleansing agent. This can be attributed to the presence of
karpain compounds that inhibit microorganism and other toxins, thus giving you a clear skin and providing protection against skin problems like pimples, freckles and blemishes.
  • Juice of papaya leaves is effective in treating eczema. You can apply it on your affected areas
    after scrubbing.
  • Fresh papaya leaf juice helps in healing open wounds and sores.

7 Benefits of Quinoa, The World Healthiest Food.

Quinoa dates back three to four thousand years ago when the Incas first realized that the quinoa seed was fit for human consumption. According to WHFoods quinoa “was the gold of the Incas” because the Incas believed it increased the stamina of their warriors. The Quinoa Corporation calls quinoa the “Supergrain of the Future. ”

Who would not want to reap the benefits of this amazing superfood? Information sourced from MBG

Here are seven health benefits of quinoa:

1. Quinoa is one of the most protein-rich foods we can eat. It is a complete protein containing all nine essential amino acids.

2. Quinoa contains almost twice as much fiber as most other grains. Fiber is most widely known to relieve constipation. It also helps to prevent heart disease by reducing high blood pressure and diabetes. Fiber lowers cholesterol and glucose levels, may lower your risk of developing hemorrhoids and may help you to lose weight as it takes a longer time to chew than does other foods because it makes you feel fuller for longer and is less “energy dense” which means it has fewer calories for the same volume of food.

3. Quinoa contains Iron. Iron helps keep our red blood cells healthy and is the basis of hemoglobin formation. Iron carries oxygen from one cell to another and supplies oxygen to our muscles to aid in their contraction. Iron also increases brain function because the brain takes in about 20% of our blood oxygen. There are many benefits of iron some more of which include neurotransmitter synthesis, regulation of body temperature, aids enzyme activity and energy metabolism.

4. Quinoa contains lysine. Lysine is mainly essential for tissue growth and repair.

5. Quinoa is rich in magnesium. Magnesium helps to relax blood vessels and thereby to alleviate migraines. Magnesium also may reduce Type 2 diabetes by promoting healthy blood sugar control. Other health benefits of magnesium include transmission of nerve impulses, body temperature regulation, detoxification, energy production, and the formation of healthy bones and teeth.

6. Quinoa is high in Riboflavin (B2). B2 improves energy metabolism within brain and muscle cells and is known to help create proper energy production in cells.

7. Quinoa has a high content of manganese. Manganese is an antioxidant, which helps to prevent damage of mitochondria during energy production as well as to protect red blood cells and other cells from injury by free radicals.
