Aloe Vera is known to be a type of plant or more like an herb that has several benefits. Part of its beneficial ability includes serving as :

  • A detoxification herb.
  • A immune system booster by helping blood circulation rate as well as aiding digestion.

What about skincare benefits?

Out of all these benefits, one of the most used is skin-soothing ability and healing features. It is particularly good for treating burns, irritation, sunburns, and also acne. Aloe vera is a common plant that can grow at the backyard of many houses and also can be grown in flower pots. With a simple process, you can use it for a facial mask in order to treat acne.

Aloe vera in the modern world is now used in creams and other skin care product. No wonder it is called Plant of immortality in Egypt due to its multipurpose ability!!

Today, we keep things simple and easy focusing on 2 key ingredients. You will need aloe vera and lemon mask.
How to prepare aloe vera and lemon facial mask?
Lemon juice alongside aloe vera can bright of the skin naturally without any other additives. The following homemade mask helps to get rid of dark spots and scars from acne. Grapefruit or fresh lime can, if necessary, replace lemon. Please note citrus and sun exposure are not good friends, a good time to use this mask evening time, before bedtime.

Step by step guide – Fresh Lemon and Aloe Vera Face Mask:
1. Prepare the aloe vera: Select the aloe vera plant with thicker stem to get more juice, then use knife to cut the leaf attached to the base of the plant. Make sure you clearly wash in clean water.
Once cleaned, you can squeeze out the juice into a clean bowl.
2. Preparing the Aloe vera gel: Chop off the rough edges of the leaf.  Slice the skin like part of the aloe into two equal part. Scrape out the gel inside the two half parts and put inside a bowl.

Once ready, you can move on to the 3rd step.
3. Combining the freshly made aloe vera gel by mash the gel with lemon juice (precisely 1/8 tsp)
Note: Avoid using excess lemon juice as it might cause irritation.

Apply the facial scrub on your face and neck. Then, lightly massage the face with it. Leave it for about 15 to 20 minutes, then wash with warm water. Dry off your skin with a soft towel and then apply moisturizer.  Store the facial mask in the refrigerator in case there are some left.

Let me know how you go 😉

Today, on OiB I will discuss about feet spas. There have been many feet spas that are too good for bringing about the natural and organic wellbeing of one’s feet. Feet are undoubtedly one of the most important parts of the body that represent both beauty as well as comfort. There are many people who can judge the habits of a person by the way they pamper and take care of things as little as their feet skin, nails etc.

Moreover, they also contribute to the comfort because if a person’s feet are well taken care of then they can feel painless and truly comfortable throughout their whole body.

This is why many foot spas have opened. These foot spa have their own natural settings and have become very popular as well. The thing is this that these foot spas can also be done at home to provide added comfort to them overall.

What Is the Ideology Behind Feet Spa Treatments?

Foot spa treatment is basically a very effective as well as natural and organic technique that is also very relaxing at the very same time. Your feet are soaked into warm water that has salt and many essential oils in it. The feet are then detoxified, scrubbed as well as massaged well. This also includes cleaning as well as putting nail pint, doing pedicures, or putting foot lotion simply as well.

A foot spa can be down twice once in every two to three days at home too. It requires very basic essentials like nail clippers, cuticle pushers, scissors, cuticle nippers, pumice stone, buffer, nail filers etc. There are also some advanced tools that can include foot baths, pedicure foot machine and such.

Saturday Relaxation with Ginger and Dead Sea Salt

  • Peppermint

Have a bowl of warm water with some scented bubbles in it and peppermint oil besides lavender oil for extra soothing effects. Soak your feet for five to ten minutes and then dry them with a clean and soft towel. Next you should clean of any dirt from your nails by clipping them, filing them, or cutting the cuticles as well.

  • Almond and Milk

You can soak your feet simply in the mixture of almond and milk. This will help to have soft feet. However, for this foot spa DIY treatment, the feet should be clean already. You can also add in 1 cup of powdered dairy or soy milk or almond oil as alternative too. A 10 min soaking action will do wonders for your feet and you do not need to rinse as well.

  • Epsom Salts

You can make any DIY foot spa mixture and add just one handful of Epsom salt in it. This will greatly help to reduce the swelling of your feet in no time.

3 Easy DIY Carrot Masks You Will Love!

Carrot, Lemon and Olive Oil Face Mask

Step 1: Prepare the mixture

Peel and boil one large carrot until tender (when a fork can easily pierce through it, it’s ready). Mash the carrot with a fork. We want a creamy consistency.

Now, add the following:

  • 1/2 tbsp of Organic Honey.
  • 1/2 tbsp. of Extra virgin olive oil.

NOTE: If your skin is oily, you may omit the extra virgin olive oil.

  • A few drops of organic lemon juice. How many you may ask? Read below 😉

Basically, your skin type will depend on the amount of lemon juice you add in. Because lemon juice is a natural astringent, you should know that the oilier your skin, the more lemon you want in your mask! Simple. ). If you have dry skin, add about 8 drops of lemon and if you have oily skin, add up to 1 tablespoon.

Step 2: Check consistency

The mixture shouldn’t be too clumpy or too runny. If the mix is too thick, you can add in a bit more extra virgin olive oil or water to thin it out. You can add a bit more honey to the mix to give it a thicker, paste-like texture.

Cool down. Let the mixture cool down so that the temperature is comfortable on your skin.

Step 3: Mask time

Let the fun part begins!  Apply the carrot mask onto a clean and bare face, even your neck if you wish, but avoid the eye and mouth area.

Leave it on for 10 -15 minutes and wash it off with warm water afterwards. Pat dry and follow up with your favorite moisturizer or eye cream.

Carrot and Coconut Oil Face Mask

Step 1: Wash, chop and blend.

Get a large carrot and cut it into 5 or so chunks. Wash them while boiling 3 cups of water in a sauce pan. Now Add carrots, reduce heat to low, cover and steam for 8-10 minutes.

Now you want to get the right texture. How?  First slowly drain water and add carrots to food processor or blender.

Step 2: Add the secret oil.

  • Add 1 tbsp. coconut oil and blend until smooth. Like a yammi puree 😉

Step 3: Pamper your face.

My favourite part. You will see the result straight away! Apply face mask to face, avoiding the eyes and mouth. Allow to set about 15-20 minutes. Don’t forget to wash face with warm water, and gently wipe off any remaining bits with a wash cloth.

NOTE: If you need a moisturizer, apply a little coconut oil or olive oil.

Carrot and Avocado Face Mask

Step1: Peel, boil and drain

Pick 2 or 3 large carrots in your kitchen and slice them into small rounds. Boil the carrots in a small pot until they’re easily pierced with a fork. Drain the water away and pour the cooked carrot slices into a small bowl.

Time to get exciting and … messy! Oops! 😉 Mash the carrots thoroughly with a fork.

Step 2: Get the right mixture

  • 4 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil with the carrots1/2 tablespoon at a time, until the mixture has reached a smooth, creamy consistency.
  • 2-3 spoonfuls of the avocado as you go along as well. If you prefer a slightly different consistency, simply adjust the amount of oil to suit your preference.

Step 3: Be patient

Wait until the mask has cooled sufficiently to apply, and then smooth it onto your skin. Leave it in place for about 10 minutes; rinse it off with warm water and pat your skin dry.
