Cleopatra.. Isn’t she our ideal? So today at OiB I am going to talk about Rosehip Oil which is considered as the Cleopatra of essential oils.

Basically, rose oil is an essential oil, which can be found in many quality skincare products. It is also used in natural therapies industries. It is expensive oil made from rosa damascene, which is commonly known as Moroccan Rosa. Rose oil, in some countries, is produced from Rosa centifolia.

Rose hip seed oil is extracted from the Rosa rubignosa, which grows wild in the Southern Andes.

The most expensive Rose Oil is produced from the petals. Rosehip Oil is usually made from the seed capsules.

There are different extraction procedures for each kind of oil. The manufacture of Rose Oil is a very labour intensive task. The petals are gathered early in the morning of the same day as it is processed. The most common method is the steam distillation method, in which oil is extracted from the rose petals.

Rosehip Oil is pressed oil made by pressing the seeds to extract the oil. Rosehip Oil possesses high percentage of Vitamin A and Vitamin C. It is also a carrier of high concentration of Fatty acids Omega-6 and Omega 3.

It is safe for all ages and all types of skin can take advantage from it.  Rosehip oil is also used in anti-aging creams because when it is used as preventative measure it can reduce the chances of premature aging. But the key is to apply it daily to your skin. You can also use it to reverse the damage that has been caused by wrinkling. If you will apply it daily, Rosehip oil can make your skin appear healthier.

There are several researches done on this amazing organic product. It can help in scarring (from wounds, chickenpox, eczema, acne and psoriasis), burns, dermatitis, and skin damage caused by Sun exposure. Pregnant women can also use to it remove stretch marks. Hyper-pigmentation, skin elasticity and resilience, all these ailments can be reduced by using Rosehip Oil. If you have dry skin then you must Rosehip Oil once a week. It also helps in retaining your skin glow.

DIY Rosehip Facial Oil


  • 1 teaspoon jojoba oil
  • 1 teaspoon rosehip seed oil
  • 1 teaspoon pomegranate seed oil
  • 1 teaspoon evening primrose oil
  • 20 drops frankincense essential oil
  • 10 drops carrot seed oil
  • vitamin e capsules
  • 1-ounce bottle with dropper cap

Pomegranate in DIY Skincare


  • Combine ingredients in a small dark-colored bottle. Shake gently to combine.
  • Apply 2-4 drops to the pad of your finger and massage into face, neck and chest each night.
