This is why I thought to finally give it a thought for all my readers out there. There have been various queries about non-alcoholic perfumes. Some ask if it is natural and organic while some want to know the benefits or the features it has to offer. Thus, you shall find all the answers now as I have tried and used the perfume myself to give you the reviews and knowledge about it.

So What Is Non-Alcoholic Perfume?

The primary essential of perfumes is the oil concentration with which it is made. This is also what makes the non-alcoholic perfume different than a normal alcoholic perfume. This oil concentration should be more and more in order to have a good perfume. All good and high quality perfumes have 15 to 30% perfume oil in them. Alcohol is mixed with this perfume to make the smell stronger.

There are higher quantities of alcohol in those perfumes that have a low quantity of perfume oil. But then there can be several issues with these alcoholic perfumes. It is here that the advantages or features of non-alcoholic perfumes come by.

Features of Non-Alcoholic Perfumes

The different benefits of non-alcoholic perfumes also include benefits for the skin which I have witnessed myself. These are all given as follows

  • These perfumes are not too costly
  • These perfumes do not attract to have stronger smell for the first two hours and then vanish through the next hour (as the alcohol evaporates faster). They remain constant
  • These perfumes have lower risk of being prone to develop skin infection or any skin sensitivity
  • The oil of these perfumes can also sometimes help to have a balanced skincare and fragrance as well
  • Non-alcoholic perfumes are more towards the organic and natural side in comparison

Where Did It Come from?

The actual word perfume is a Latin word called per fumus which means ‘through smoke’. Later on the Romans went on to define perfumes even more while the Persians and Arabs also were partners in the same. Today, perfumes are used in different cultures all over the world. The western society uses it in their own style while the eastern side has its own set of fragrances. Not to forget, the Islamic world also appreciates a person who applies non-alcoholic perfume and smells good most of the time, especially on a Friday.

Different Forms of Non-Alcoholic Perfumes

There are many different forms of these non-alcoholic perfumes. They can be made purely with the help of different essential oils that enhance the skin and bring about lots of fragrance as well. One can even combine different types of oils and apply them to act as a perfume. This is because the oil absorbs within the skin and the fragrance is maintained throughout.

For all your non-alcoholic perfume knowledge, I shall let you know that this is a really good option to go for in comparison. Different oils can be used to treat and maintain the skin besides having the fragrance as well. Let me know if you still have any queries, the comment section is all yours.

  1. I love this kind of stuff … great post!! I have often melted down cocoa butter, shea butter, added essential oils, poured into little tins for solid perfume gifts. Or made big jars of it for an all over body perfume. (I use a double boiler on real low/slow heat … and added a little propolis or bees wax so it sticks on the skin better) So much fun!!
