How to Pamper Your Feet Naturally?

Have you ever heard that most men are attracted by the way the woman keeps her feet?

In case you’re wondering that’s all false, let me tell you that it is true since all my close male friends have admitted to it.

Today on OiB, we are going to discuss how feet grab others attention instantly and what can be done to get the perfect benefit from it for your personality and feet. Oups!

They believe that a woman who takes care of things as petty as her feet is greatly managed. So why not do the following to pamper one’s feet naturally and have the best of both personality and your feet.

  • Employ a DIY manicure (preparing you a step by step infographic very shortly)
  • Apply moisturizers and wear clean cotton socks
  • Relax your feet through different techniques
  • Maintain your feet through dead skin removal, proper nail clipping and massaging
  • Soften your feet soles naturally.

I recall when I finished my first 50km in the tropical forest of Malaysia last year, my feet hurts so bad! I used a few technics listed below to help recover.

All these tips have greatly helped me to have much better skin on my feet and every pair of shoes, every slipper looks good on my feet after proper care. Even the skin is rejuvenated and flushes its pink color to make my feet look enhanced and naturally blooming. This can be done though the following remedies in particular:

Use Toothpaste

Have your own manicure through doing away with yellow nails. Just dab some whitening toothpaste over your nails and let them sit while you watch one of your favorite episodes.

Use Salt and Oils

You can moisturize your feet through by removing dead skin cells. Use coarse salt and mix it with some vegetable oil which shouldn’t dissolve all the way. Some examples are Coconut oil or Carrot Oil, they both works fine. Rub with a pumice stone and rinse to have your pink heels again.

If you need help figuring out which salt to use, feel free to check the relevant article here.

Soak Techniques

Use water to soak your feet for 10 to 20 minutes or add optional honey with milk. Rinse and apply moisturizer. Alternatively, you can also apply a homemade paste to your skin by adding to 0.2 cup of raw honey, rosemary and peppermint solution. Your feet will naturally absorb the paste during your sleeping or rest time.

Use Cuticle Cream

Trim and clip your toe nails and massage using cuticle creams in a circular motion or even use mayonnaise for the same.

Use Milk

You can soften your soles through adding 0.25 cup milk in some water and soaking them for an hour. While all this can pamper your feet greatly, share with us how your feet changed through these remedies or share some of your own tips with us too.

Milk as well as yogurt is a natural exfoliant and helps smooth dry skin. My long-time dried legs are now gone!

DIY Essentials Oil Candle at Home

I love when my home feels cosy and smells like a flower. How to do so naturally, myself and without hurting  my budget? OiB has the answer 😉 It is in itself a very simple and effective method to begin to diffuse essential oils around your home. It requires no specific instrument – just a non-scented candle and an essential oil of your choice.

In summary, light your non-scented candle and allow to burn for a few minutes or until a pool of melted wax forms. Add two or three drops of your favorite essential oil. Within seconds the beautiful aroma will start to spread around the room. Thank you ThehomemadeExperiement for compelling the tutorial and pictures below.

What You Need.

  1. Votive candle
  2. Essential oils
  3. Fire

And your best happy face 😉

Candle - DIY | OrganicIsBeautiful
Candle – DIY | OrganicIsBeautiful

The Tutorial

  •  STEP 1 – MELT THE WAX

Light your votive candle and let the wax melt as much as possible. It took my votive candle 30 minutes to get good and melted.

Just keep an eye on your candle and when it looks something like the picture on the right, you’re good to go.

  • STEP 2 –BLOW IT OUT

After the wax has mostly melted blow out the candle. This is very important as essential oils can be very flammable when they come into direct contact with flame.

A Warning: Be extremely careful, and follow my instructions closely. Some essential oils are very flammable and should never come into contact with an open flame in their pure form. As an example, my pine essential oil immediately burst into flame when added to a burning candle. I lost a few hairs figuring that one out.

  • STEP 3 – Add 5-8 Drops Essential Oil

Add between 5-8 drops of essential oil to the votive candle. For mine I used peppermint essential oil. As with most essential oil things use as much or as little as you like.

Because the wax is very hot the essential oil will heat up and disperse evenly into the wax.

It might take some trial and error to find essential oils that will work well for this. I tried doing the same thing with pine essential oil and all I got for that effort was a little bit of a burning smell. I’m not quit sure what the difference is chemically between the two, but my peppermint essential oil works just fine for this.

  • STEP 4 – MIX

You can give the candle a little, I mean very small, jiggle if you want to help the essential oils mix into the wax. Be careful not to slosh the wax though, I don’t want you to burn yourself.

  • STEP 5 – LIGHT IT UP

That’s it, now you can safely relight your votive candle, and you’ve got a quick and easy scented candle without having to make your own from scratch.

– HOW’S IT WORK –

I think that this diy scented candle trick works great. It’s not as good as a really nice scented candle, but it does the trick. Right now my little votive candle is filling my living room with the smell of peppermint and that’s just what I wanted it to do.

Essentials

Your Armpits smelling like tropical flowers, Yes please! DIY.

When I started using coconut oil as an occasional deep conditioner for my hair, I also found quite a few sources saying it could be used as a natural deodorant. Nearly all skincare products or beauty products that are typically made with toxic and harmful ingredients can be made using coconut oil. Coconut oil deodorant is just another one to add to the list.

Disclosing today in OiB my personal experience in DIY homemade Deodorant.

So, you know me? I gave it a try, and it worked… kind of. It had to be reapplied later in the day, and didn’t work well in the heat of tropical climat or through a heavy workout. Coconut oil itself was not enought. I desperately wanted another solution, so when I ran out of deodorant over a month ago, I finally made my own.

Choosing Your Essential Oils

You can use whatever blend of essential oils you like in the recipe below, and I suggest putting at least one oil into your mix with antiseptic/antibacterial properties. Here are some natural antibacterial essential oils for you to consider:

lemongrass
lavender
tea tree
rosemary
lemon

Fresh and organically grown lemongrass | www.organicisbeautiful.com

The trick to tinkering with essential oils is knowing their strength. Lemon and lemongrass oils, for example, are very naturally strong. Just a few drops will do the trick in this DIY deodorant recipe, I personally used Tea-tree essential oil.

My advice when getting used to essential oils is to start small. Add a few drops, mix, smell, repeat. You can always add more, but you can’t take away.

DIY Deodorant Recipe

  • Materials & Supplies
  1. Small, wide-mouth glass jar. You need to be able to get your fingers in there, because you apply this with your fingers.
  2. Spoon
  3. 1/4 cup baking soda – Baking soda absorbs moisture, which helps keep you dry.
  4. 10-15 drops essential oil of your choice – See the section above. If you don’t want to tinker, start with 5-8 drops of lavender, depending on how strong you want the scent to be.

  • Directions

Simple. You can basically make this DIY deodorant right in your jelly jar. Spoon in the baking soda, add your essential oil, and mix it up well. Voila!

How to Apply Your DIY Deodorant

It’s best to apply this right out of the shower. Give the jar a good shake before opening, then dip clean, dry fingers in, and pat the deodorant onto your pits. I do this over the sink, because it’s a little bit messier than applying stick deodorant. Pat – don’t rub – until the powder is no longer visible on your pits, and you’re good to go.

The (surprising) Beauty Benefits of Rice & Green Tea Powders

In this article, I will tackle the eternal question: what are the secret skincare recipes that make Asian woman have an ageless skin? Answer: Rice and green tea powders.

What they have in common? Antioxidant properties.

Rice is not just rice.

A bit of history.

Cosmetics powders are not new to the market.

In the 17th century, powder originated as an answer to a practical need in the days when bathing was less frequent, but it quickly became an expressive luxury.

It’s been used in Asian culture for over hundreds of years.

Japan flag OrganicIsBeautifulIn Japan, white rice powder has been used since the 16th century by Japanese Geishas.

In the heart of Japanese Geisha culture, rice powder purposely theatrically opaque, more translucent to whiten uniformly women’s complexions.

French flag OrganicIsBeautifulIn  France: A white face paint also characteristics of Marie Antoinette toiletries routine in the 17th Versailles. It was fashionable to have a very pale complexion. This highlighted that a person was rich enough not to have to work outside in the outside fields.

Indonesia flag OrganicIsBeautifulIn ancient Indonesia (and others SEA countries), rice powder was added to water to create a form of paste. The field workers who worked all day under the hot tropical sun used to apply it as a UV protector.

Properties.

Antioxidants are the magical nutrients and enzymes responsible for fighting against the negative effects of UV radiation, giving us younger-looking skin, and preventing a number of life-threatening maladies.

Some of us are have a more sensitive skin, it usually this type of skin that is prone to early age effects: wrinkles and dark spots around the eyes.

Using incorrect or/and harmful skin care product can only accelerate this process. Many cosmetics are comedogenic, it means that they are high in greasy ingredients and tend to clog pores especially by the formation of blackheads. So, if like me a few years ago, you have a oily/acne type of skin, it is highly recommended to use makeup and skin care products clearly labeled noncomedogenic.

Rice or oat starches (flour) are excellent in their raw, natural state for use in poultices, masques and gentle exfoliation of the skin. Examiner Blog

How to use it?

Powder cleanser is as easy to use as a liquid cleanser. Just wet your face and palms, pour about 1/2 a teaspoon on your hands and rub them together to activate the powerful enzymes and antioxidants.

Usages

In the cosmetics market, rice powder is used to add a polishing effect to the face. It helps to leave a transparent yet silky touch on the face. It can be used as facial masks, added to mineral veils and makeups. In Kuala Lumpur, I found it sold as a rice water format and applied as a skin tonic or body moisturizers.

Mixed with aloe Vera, it can be a very good healing lotion after a day at the beach under the sun.

What about Green tea? Read below

Green tea

Green tea, like many fruits and nuts, contains lot of polyphenols. Polyphenols have been studied for their antioxidant potential with promising results. In our case, EGCG is the predominant antioxidant in most forms of green tea.

EGCG has been shown to be 25 to 100 times more potent than vitamins C and E in terms of antioxidant activity. NCBI

Properties.

Vitamin K is important for the production of certain proteins that maintain healthy skin cells renewal and it may be a factor in skin problems like acne.

Then damp the tea bag over your eyes for 10-15 minutes. The tannin tea bags have been proven to reduce swelling (baggy under eyes) and discoloration (dark circles).

How to use it?

An bags under your eyes? Use eye compress! Quite often, these are signals of sleep deprivation, improper diet, or some other slowly accumulating beauty-impacting issue:

  • Put your used tea bag in the fridge or let it cool down for a half hour.
  • Freeze freshly brewed green tea as ice cubes and use them as a toner.

Green tea acts as a great soother, reduce redness. Its calming properties can help mitigate any discomfort if you have any psoriasis and rosacea, accompanied by inflammation.

In your weekly facial mask? Simple. NBT explained how you can combine the two powders into water or lemon juice!

  • Mix well 3 tablespoons of cool green tea solution with 3-4 table spoons of rice flour.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to it to form a smooth and spreadable paste, but not runny. You can always mix more tea if the paste is too thick.
  • Apply the pack over your face and keep it there for about 20 minutes before rinsing with cool water.
  • Apply your favorite moisturizer.

Usages

Like most other antioxidants, green tea polyphenols are oxidized and lose their activity when exposed to air. Whether commercial green tea creams retain the activity is unclear and may vary widely from product to product. It is always best to buy green tea and rice powder 100% natural and organic.
